The City Plan Department works closely with the Whalley Avenue Special Services District and other city departments to revitalize this distinctive retail boulevard.  With its pedestrian-friendly storefronts and wide, tree-lined sidewalks, Whalley Avenue is a shopping destination.   Moreover, Whalley Avenue is a destination for new development.

Marketing & Demographics Information:
Twice as many households with average incomes ($75,000-$150,000) live in New Haven than in Woodbridge and Bethany combined. Market area is racially diverse (50% are Black and other /50% are White & Latino.) Market area captures 50% of New Haven households.
